We started Shmeer in 2016 with a frustration that's easy to articulate but hard to fix: most agencies optimize for retainers, not results. The work shipped is just enough to keep clients on, never enough to make them dependent. We wanted to build the opposite.
A decade later, we still believe in small senior teams, honest reporting, and bets we'd put our own money behind. We've shipped for DTC brands at every stage, B2B SaaS companies fighting for category leadership, hospitality groups rebuilding direct booking, and fintechs trying to be cited by AI before their competitors are.
Along the way we built InfluenceLayer — our platform for the AI-discovery era. Because the way customers find brands has fundamentally changed, and most agencies are still pretending it hasn't.
